OPHTHALMOLOGIST

The Department of Ophthalmology is looking for passionate, talented, and patient-focused individuals to join our team. The department provides ophthalmic outpatient, inpatient, laser, LASIK and surgery services at tertiary and sub-specialty levels.

Anterior Segment and Complex Cataract Specialist

The applicant must be experienced in general ophthalmology, in addition to having sound capabilities in anterior segment and complex cataract surgery. A good understanding of current intraocular lenses and biometry is preferred. The scope of work includes surgical management of complicated cataracts and anterior segment conditions not limited to subluxated cataracts, subluxated intraocular lenses and iris reconstruction.

Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon

The applicant must be experienced in general ophthalmology, in addition to having a well-developed special interest in vitreo-retinal surgery. The scope of work includes the treatment of retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane and complications related to diabetic retinopathy. The applicant must also be fellowship-trained in vitreo-retinal surgery.

Paediatric Ophthalmologist

The applicant must be experienced in general ophthalmology, in addition to having a well-developed special interest in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus surgery. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, strabismus surgery in both adults and children, and the treatment of common paediatric conditions such as amblyopia, myopia, paediatric cataracts and paediatric eyelid disorders.

Oculoplastic Surgeon

The applicant must be experienced in general ophthalmology, in addition to having a well-developed special interest in oculoplastic surgery. The scope of work includes the treatment of common eyelid, orbital and lacrimal conditions such as, but not limited to, ptosis, entropion & ectropion, thyroid eye disease, orbital fractures and nasolacrimal duct obstruction."

Requirements

The candidate must possess a basic Medical Degree and a recognised post-graduate qualification, such as the FRCS, MRCS with CCST, Board Cert or its equivalent, which is registrable with the Singapore Medical Council and the Specialist Accreditation Board. The candidate must also be fellowship-trained in the above subspecialties.
