We are looking for a skilled and proactive Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong infrastructure background. The candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of Oracle databases in mission-critical environments. This role ensures high availability, scalability, security, and performance of Oracle database systems that support enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Infrastructure Management:
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software (single instance and RAC environments).
Plan and execute patch management, including security and version upgrades.
Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies (e.g., Oracle Data Guard, RMAN).
Manage Oracle ASM, storage configurations, and interaction with SAN/NAS teams.
2. Operational Support & Maintenance:
Monitor database health and performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and infrastructure tools (e.g., Nagios, Dynatrace).
Perform proactive capacity planning and tuning of database servers (memory, CPU, I/O).
Manage tablespaces, redo logs, undo segments, indexes, partitions, and backups.
3. Backup and Recovery:
Implement and manage database backup strategies using RMAN and third-party backup tools (e.g., NetBackup, Commvault).
Conduct regular DR drills and support recovery activities during outages or planned exercises.
4. Security & Compliance:
Implement database security policies (user roles, auditing, encryption, patch compliance).
Collaborate with InfoSec teams for vulnerability scans and remediation.
Ensure compliance with data protection, GDPR, and regulatory standards.
5. Automation & Scripting:
Develop shell/Perl/Python scripts for database monitoring, maintenance, and reporting.
Automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
6. Collaboration & Documentation:
Work with infrastructure, storage, network, and application teams for cross-functional support.
Maintain database documentation, runbooks, change logs, and compliance audit records.
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years as an Oracle DBA in enterprise-scale infrastructure.
Expertise in Oracle versions 12c, 19c
Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Grid Infrastructure.
Experience in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
Exposure to cloud-based Oracle environments (OCI, AWS RDS, or Azure DB).
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve performance and outage issues.
Preferred Certifications:
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) in RAC or Data Guard
ITIL Foundation
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
