About Company:
Our client is a Japanese One-Stop Centre which has been in Singapore for more than 30 years. It started as a wholesale business for Japanese restaurants and supermarkets. Currently having 4 branches in Singapore and well-known for its fresh sashimi which is directly imported from Japan.
:
- Leads kitchen team and involves in daily operations (such as opening, closing, preparing, and cooking).- Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited to kitchen standards, line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.- Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients.- Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.- Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours.- Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimizes waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns.- Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure food quality and standards.- Maintains kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities.- Coordinates with management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing.- To take on any other tasks as reasonably assigned by the direct reporting superior and/or company.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of cooking experience in Western/Italian cuisine- Preferred experience in Japanese cuisine - Prior managerial experience in kitchen would be advantageous- Able to commit to work overtime if required- Able to work on weekends and Public Holidays- Able to perform shift work- Responsible and trustworthy
Compensation:
- Working hours: Sun - Thu (10am - 10pm), Fri & Sat (10am - 11pm)- Work week: 5.5 days/ week- Working Location: Somerset- Salary package: Basic + Allowance- Variable Bonus- 10 days Annual Leave (1 day increment every year, cap at 15 days)
