Job Description

• Graduate of Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or any scientific discipline.
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the packaging development process gained within a similar environment is preferred, but junior employees or recent graduates willing to learn and develop are welcome to apply!
• Experience in project management: from start to finish within tight timeframes in a fast-moving environment.
• Very deadline-sensitive; performs well under pressure.
• Proactive and has the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to use and quickly learn computer systems as well as comprehend technical information; proficiency with software such as Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
• Knowledge of packaging development concepts and practices and an understanding of how costs can be built into or out of products are advantages.
• Resourcefulness and aptitude towards research and sourcing; ability to implement technology to improve packaging development processes.
• An understanding of products, as well as commercial and business acumen, are pluses.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are a must because the position requires liaising with local and foreign suppliers, as well as with many internal stakeholders.
• Committed to a plastic-free, sustainable world and incredibly inventive — a brave, playful experimenter who isn't afraid of wild ideas and new materials.
• Tremendous organizational skills, effective supplier relations, cost/contract negotiations, project management experience, and, ideally, some understanding of packaging design principles are among the qualifications of a competent candidate for this post.
