About the role

This role is to handle the following key responsibilities mentioned to cover the areas within the scope of the supply chain function with emphasis & focus on materials planning activities/scope.

Key responsibilities include

  • Work with Planning Manager to effectively coordinate with internal and external parties eg. Production, QA, Purchasing and Logistics teams on improvements for FG/RM inventory/replenishment planning.
  • The Material Planner will focus on the following:
  • Effectively manage and coordinate with internal and external parties eg. Production, QA, Purchasing and warehouse on Inventory and packaging materials replenishment planning. Execute and monitor phase-in & phase-out of old and new packaging materials & externally printed labels.
  • Closely monitor production plan conformance and output. Feedback concerns on production progress and closely work with Supervisor and other stakeholders on their concerns with the plan.
  • Closely monitor liquid delivery production and shipment plan to ensure order fulfillment.
  • Constantly monitor inventory and feedback concerns on inventory level and any out-of-stock situations.
  • Work closely with respective suppliers on the call-off plan of packaging materials and coordinate with relevant stakeholders (BC internal & suppliers) on supply issues and complaints on product supplied.
  • Manage customer supply allocations in situations where materials are in scarce/tight supply.
  • Close liaison with Planning Manager in coordinating packaging materials required for SOC management & for interface into the SAP system for future planning via SAP system integration & roll-out.
  • Interacts with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information as requested from Production, and Customer Service.
  • Complete status reports for production progress, work in process and follow up as required with all teams to expedite the flow of materials to meet the production schedule.
  • Ensure the mass balance of certified raw materials is correctly and promptly updated in the bookkeeping.
  • Oversee & coordinate system roll-out to enable packaging materials planning via the SAP system.
  • Manage packaging material inventory to ensure it meets the stated inventory holding level
  • Any other duties & responsibilities to be assigned from time to time relating to planning scope/function.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Internal stakeholders:
  • Production - Packaging planning, repacking and liquid delivery schedule. Interacts with Production Scheduler and Supervisors on reviewing daily production status, highlighting implications.
  • QA - Discuss & liaise relating to a quality matter that arises which impact shipments inbound & outbound
  • Warehouse & Shipping (Logistics) - Coordinate with warehouse & shipping on shipment-related planning, deployment of shipment & storage-related activities.
  • Purchasing - Replenishment ordering; Interacts with Purchasing on the positioning of packaging materials.
  • External stakeholders
  • Suppliers - Coordinate & liaison on all inbound & call-off deliveries; Provide the delivery forecast for specific suppliers.
  • Intervene with suppliers & contractors on any escalated issues & concerns impacting order fulfillment
About you
  • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent, CPIM or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Diploma for those with at least 5 years of relevant planning & project management/coordination-related experience
  • English communication skill
  • Chinese communication skill is a plus
  • Experience in production & materials planning in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in demand and supply management especially in a manufacturing environment will be an advantage
  • Inventory control and MRP exposure
  • Exposure to SAP and S&OP process
  • Hands-on Excel, word and PowerPoint knowledge
  • Inventory control and MRP exposure by SAP will be an advantage
  • Demand forecasting and capacity optimization
  • Able to multi-task & work under pressure in meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong coordination and organizing ability and overall point of view, with the ability to prioritize and proactively complete projects
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  • Proficient in English & Mandarin
