Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled
Pastry Junior Sous Chef
to join our Central Kitchen team. Reporting to the Head Pastry Chef, the Junior Sous Chef will assist in leading the pastry team, maintaining high standards of quality, and ensuring timely production of all pastries, desserts, and baked goods. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Pastry Chef in managing daily operations of the pastry section, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
Prepare, bake, and decorate pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to recipes and SOPs.
Supervise and mentor junior pastry staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficiency and skill development.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and assist with ordering to avoid shortages or waste.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Collaborate with other kitchen teams to support special events, catering orders, and seasonal menus.
Innovate and contribute ideas for new pastries, desserts, and seasonal offerings. Do food costing for new products to meet management KPIs.
Ensure all products leaving the Central Kitchen meet ATD's high-quality standards in taste, presentation, and freshness.
Support the team during high-volume periods, adapting quickly to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 6 years of experience in pastry production, preferably in a high-volume kitchen or bakery.
Knowledge of baking techniques, pastry decoration, and dessert plating.
Leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Creative flair with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow recipes and SOPs precisely while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
