Our client is a top US-headquartered investments mangement firm with upwards of $1 trillion in assets under management. They are currently seeking an APAC Payroll Specialist to join the team as part of their ongoing talent renewal process. This role is a permanent, full-time position. Our client is open to considering candidates based in Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, China, or Japan.

Role

This position reports into the APAC Payroll Manager and will partner closely alongside her to oversee payroll operations for employees across the region. You will manage payroll-related enquiries that escalate from the Shared Services team and therefore help with solutioning complex payroll issues across the region. You will also work alongside payroll vendors across multiple Asian markets to ensure accurate and timely execution of payroll operations. With Singapore and Japan as the two largest markets in the region - both with a significant expatriate population - this role will also see you working alongside Japanese tax consultants to ensure appropriate tax deductions are made for secondees in these markets.

Requirements

You should possess at least 5 years of payroll expereince with significant exposure to regional payroll (SEA or Oceania). You must possess the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with global stakeholders, whilst also able to work independently in executing day-to-day payroll operations. As this role supports a sizeable population of employees based in Japan, and requires close communication with Japanese stakeholders, working proficiency in Japanese (JPLT N2) is also a must.
