Photography Assistant (Freelance/Ad-Hoc)

We are looking for a reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

Photography Assistant

to support our photography shoots on an ad-hoc, freelance basis. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our on-location client sessions, ensuring the photographer can focus entirely on composition and client direction.

About the Role

This is a dynamic, hands-on role that requires travel to our clients' offices, primarily in the central business district.

Engagement Length:

The minimum engagement for a shoot is

4 hours

. Full-day shoots typically range from

10-12 hours

.

Compensation Period:

You will be compensated for your time from the moment you pick up the gear at the studio until you drop it off.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics & Setup:

Meet the photographer at the studio to pick up all necessary equipment. Travel to the client's office and efficiently set up the lighting (strobe units and modifiers) and backdrop stand.

On-Set Technical Support:

During the photoshoot, serve as the photographer's

"second set of eyes."

You will be responsible for tethered image review, specifically checking for:

Sharpness and focus. Client attire, hair, and small details. Basic lighting consistency.

Administrative & Client Management:

Help manage the shoot flow, including organizing and directing the next client/subject if needed.

Wrap-Up:

Help Export Images & Carefully tear down and pack all gear, and return it to the studio.

Requirements & Compensation:

Technical Knowledge (Tier 1 - Experienced): $25 per hour

strobe lighting systems

Elinchrom and Godox

. Proficient in setting up

backdrop stands and various lighting modifiers

(softboxes, umbrellas, grids, etc.). Familiarity with photography tethering and software like

Capture One

Training Tier (Tier 2 - Less Experienced):Starting from $12-15 per hour

A strong willingness to learn, high reliability, and basic technical understanding, but requires training or refresher in studio lighting, modifiers, and/or Capture One.
