What the role is:
Physical Planning North supports URA's role as the National Planning Authority, in the Master Planning for the North Region of Singapore. The North Region forms the anchor for the Northern Innovation Corridor and the Agri-Tech and Food Corridor; with new economic node of Woodlands Regional Center, Sembawang Shipyard Redevelopment, Sungei Kadut Eco-District and Lim Chu Kang. It also houses major residential towns of Yishun, Sembawang and Woodlands; and key nature areas such as the Central Water Catchment. The department also oversees the Social Community Facilities (SCF) Master Plan.
What you will be working on:
- Support Draft Master Plan 2025 public engagement efforts - Analysis of provision needs for social community facilities using data - Planning studies for social community facilities - Research on the area's built heritage and adaptive reuse approach - Research on and formulate redevelopment and rejuvenation strategies and plans for areas in North Region Learning Outcomes - Fundamentals of urban planning in Singapore - Urban development strategies and policies
What we are looking for:
- Students who are pursuing courses in Social Science, Humanities, Data Science, Architecture, Engineering or related fields. - Familiarity with ArcGIS preferred. About Urban Redevelopment Authority:
