Job Description

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment such as feedstock and furnace operation, furnace front operation (control of slag hole opening and closing), boiler auxiliaries, the turbine generator, fans, pumps, ash handling conveyors, scrubbers, bag houses, charcoal and lime feeding machine, water treatment systems.
• Responsible for recording data, inspecting equipment, performing minor maintenance such as greasing and adjusting packing leaks and reporting equipment malfunctions or trends which indicate possible trouble
• Perform actions as directed to correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations
• Ensure that waste and ash handling equipment and assigned areas are kept clean.
• Perform chemistry testing on boiler water, cooling water and scrubber systems.
• Handle chemicals and oversee off-loading of plants consumable reagents
• Participate in boiler washout/cleaning evolutions
• Perform clean-up work and various other housekeeping duties.
• Support the maintenance group as required.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Operation Manager.

Job Requirements: -

• Diploma or trade certificate preferred. Candidate without these but have good experience will also be considered
• Previous experience in the operation of steam plants, heavy industrial machinery, or demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Formal technical or apprentice training is desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $2,200.00 - $3,700.00 per monthSchedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Education:

• Local Polytechnic Diploma (Preferred)
