Job Description

A Plumbing and Sanitary Purchaser is

responsible for managing the full procurement cycle for plumbing and sanitary materials and equipment, involving sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value for projects

. Key responsibilities include maintaining supplier lists, handling purchase orders, coordinating with project teams, ensuring accurate documentation, and monitoring material quality and delivery. This role requires strong product knowledge, vendor management skills, and proficiency in data entry and procurement software.


Key Responsibilities


Supplier Management:

Source, evaluate, and qualify new and existing suppliers for plumbing and sanitary materials and equipment.

Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and best value.


Maintain and update approved supplier lists.

Procurement Process:

Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from material requests to final delivery.

Prepare and issue purchase orders and other necessary procurement documents.


Ensure accuracy in invoices, delivery orders, and all procurement records.

Coordination and Communication:

Liaise and coordinate efficiently with site teams, project managers, and other stakeholders.

Ensure material requests align with project requirements and timelines.

Product Knowledge:

Maintain strong product knowledge of plumbing hardware, sanitary fittings, and construction materials.

Inventory and Quality Control:

Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels for materials.

Monitor supplier performance and address any delivery or quality issues promptly.

Cost Management:

Conduct regular price comparisons to ensure competitiveness.

Initiate and lead cost-saving initiatives within the procurement process.

Documentation and Compliance:

Maintain all procurement records and ensure they are up-to-date and accurate.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.

Skills & Qualifications


Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing experience in construction, plumbing, sanitary, or related fields.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Soft Skills:

Strong negotiation, vendor management, strategic planning, and communication skills. *

Education:

A diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is often preferred.
