Job Description

Job Purpose:

Provide technical service support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for Process Management Systems (800xA) and associated industrial networking systems, ensuring optimal system performance for customers across various sites. Conduct site assessments and propose technical solutions for system improvements or fault rectifications. Coordinate with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams to plan and execute service works efficiently. Drive service schedules to meet client expectations and minimize downtime. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and updates following service activities. Uphold safety and compliance standards during all field operations.

Hardware:-


Fibre optic cabling systems CAT6A cabling and connections Basic electrical wiring based on SLD and wiring diagrams ABB 800xA hardware components Hirschmann and CISCO industrial networking products LV devices (e.g. UMC100/PNU/PNQ, M102/EM01, Exertherm/MS572) MV monitoring/protection products (e.g. Bender/ISO) Software:-


ABB 800xA software configuration and troubleshooting Industrial network redundancy protocols (HSR, PRP, MRP, VLAN) Windows domain, policy management, security hardening, updates
Communication protocols: MODBUS TCP/IP, IEC61850 (MMS & GOOSE), PROFINET, OPC UA (certificate verification)

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Control & Automation, Instrumentation, or related fields. Minimum

10 years

of relevant working experience in, ABB 800xA system servicing, commissioning, or integration, Industrial networking (HSR, PRP, MRP, VLAN), Troubleshooting fibre optic and CAT6A communication systems, Working with LV and MV products in industrial environments Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (MODBUS TCP/IP, IEC61850, PROFINET, OPC UA), Windows domain management, and network configuration. Responsible with strong ownership mindset Excellent communication and customer-facing skills Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders Self-driven with strong problem-solving skills and schedule discipline
