Job Description

We are looking for a candidate with a keen interest in legal policy research and trends in the legal profession. The candidate will be required to support the work of Council and Committees of the Law Society, and the Representation and Law Reform Department. This is a full-time role, which includes preparing written papers and reports on issues and trends concerning the legal profession. The specific duties include:

• Support and facilitate the work and various initiatives of the Council of the Law Society and the Practice Committees, including minute-taking and committee administration;

• Position the Law Society as a thought leader on professional and practice issues through publishing reports, articles, papers and proposals;

• Study and report on trends affecting the future of the legal profession;

• Adopt data-driven approaches towards monitoring trends affecting the legal profession in Singapore; and

• Assist with drafting responses to consultations by external stakeholders.
  

Requirements

• A recognized bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s law degree from a reputable university

• Called to the Singapore Bar and at least 1-3 years of post-qualification experience.

• Strong legal analytical skills with the ability to assimilate and evaluate new or complex information

• Excellent writing, drafting and communication skills

• Able to multi-task and work independently within tight deadlines

• Self-motivated, resourceful and good team player with good administrative and organizational skills

• Interest to learn and develop new skills, knowledge and capabilities
