We are seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher to co-develop automation, AI-driven characterization and decision-making algorithms for self-driving laboratories which synthesize and test materials in the energy space. The position will be based in the Ceder research group at UC Berkeley, within the BEARS Consortium. The researcher will work in a highly collaborative environment as part of the AxCIS team in Singapore, interacting with experimental and modelling, and AI researchers, to innovate at the frontiers of materials design.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop autonomous and robotic platforms for materials synthesis and characterization
Develop innovative new approaches for materials testing in autonomous platforms.
Perform software integration of new tools with A_lab OS software
Analyze and present results in meetings or conferences
Disseminate research outputs through high-impact publications, presentations, and data releases in accordance with open science practices.
Manage project relations with sponsors and collaborators through reporting and visits.
Collaborate with computational team members, including partners in academia, industry, and national laboratories.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in experimental materials research and/or automation
Good publication record.
