Prepares engaging lesson plans and educational materials for children
Establishes clear objectives for all lessons and units, and delivers lessons aligned with the objectives
Carries out a curriculum that targets different areas of child development, such as language, motor, and social skills
Cultivates the children’s interest in learning and development
Engages in age appropriate activities with children
Provides a wide range of engaging and interactive activities
Engages in questioning and listening to children’s voices during classroom interactions and discussions
Encourages and respects children making choices
Models and teaches appropriate social skills
Enhances development of self-confidence and healthy emotional well-being in children
Evaluates and documents the children’s progress in learning outcomes on an ongoing basis
Observes the children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
Prepares and submits children’s photo updates of children’s activities and milestones reached
Prepares and submits progress reports by the due dates
Safety and Health
Provides effective supervision of children in all times
Ensures that the equipment and materials used are safe
Facilitates and ensures safety in creative play and motor-skill activities
Reminds and models for children, the safety rules and reasons behind these rules
Attends to the children’s basic and routine needs
Establishes and enforces rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order
Teaches proper eating habits and personal hygiene
Environment for Children
Creates a learning atmosphere in which children feels secure, happy, and productive
Provides a stimulating classroom environment
Ensures that the classroom set up reflects the programme theme and the philosophy
Displays children’s work which reflects individual creativity in classroom
Maintains a clean and tidy classroom
Relationship with Parents
Maintain a professional relationship with Parents at all times
Attend Parent-Teacher meetings to discuss the children's progress, needs, priorities for the children, and suggest ways that learning and development for their children can be enhanced
Communication and Teamwork
Cooperates with all staff members in the Centre
Plans and evaluates assignments for Assistant Teachers
Collaborates with other teachers and the Principal, in the development, evaluation, and revision of preschool programmes
Other Responsibilities
Takes on other duties as and when assigned
