Job Overview
The Preschool Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness of the preschool environment, both indoors and outdoors. This role ensures that classrooms, ateliers, outdoor spaces, and common areas are safe, sanitised, and welcoming for children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning Duties
Sweep, mop, and vacuum classrooms, ateliers, staff areas, corridors, and common spaces.
Wipe and disinfect all surfaces, including tables, chairs, shelves, and play materials.
Clean and sanitise toilets, sinks, and bathroom facilities multiple times a day.
Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and responsibly.
Maintain cleanliness of children's dining areas before and after meals/snacks.
Weekly / Periodic Duties
Deep clean toys, learning materials, and equipment according to schedules.
Wash and sanitise children's bedding, towels, and soft furnishings.
Assist in periodic deep cleaning of classrooms, studios, and outdoor play spaces.
Support pest-control routines and ensure the environment remains safe and hygienic.
Outdoor & Common Areas
Maintain cleanliness of outdoor play areas, garden paths, and entrances.
Sweep and tidy external areas, ensuring they are safe and welcoming.
General Responsibilities
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene standards as required by ECDA and NEA.
Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to the Programme Coordinator.
Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to maintain a high-quality environment.
Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely and responsibly.
Uphold the values of Nurtured Nest in maintaining an environment of care and respect.
Requirements
Prior experience in cleaning, preferably in preschools, schools, or childcare centres.
Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitising practices for children's environments.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Physically fit to manage cleaning tasks indoors and outdoors.
