Job Description

SMMIS is recruiting a Hebrew speaking Preschool Teacher for our Jewish Preschool.

Job purpose: To take responsibility for standards of learning, teaching, curriculum provision and pastoral care within the Jewish Preschool.

Main job responsibility includes, but not limited to:

• Keep up to date with developments in the curriculum and in teaching practice methodology
• Exercise professional skills and judgement
• Impact on the developmentally appropriate progress of all pupils in the preschool
• Work with others to ensure the most appropriate links are made to ensure the curriculum is linked to the children’s interests and developing needs
• Maintain accurate records of all observations and clearly implement the observe, plan, assess cycle
• Plan, organise and resource a classroom environment which will facilitate children’s autonomous, independent learning and enable children to maximise their full potential
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional colleagues and other teachers to develop cross curricular links and creative approaches to learning

• Excellent communication skills
• Patience in dealing with students and parents
• Sound organisational and time management skills
• Nurturing manner and ability to show compassion and care with young children

• Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education or relevant qualification
• Reggio Emilia training or experience is desired
• At least 2 years' of teaching experience and working with infants/children in a preschool setting
• Fluent in speaking and delivering lessons in English and Hebrew
• IT skills is required
