Purpose and Scope
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Account Manager to lead and drive the acquisition of new data centre clients, including hyperscalers and colocation providers for our energy retail business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of energy contracts and the data centre industry. As a key leader in the team, the incumbent will be instrumental in driving growth, building strong relationships, and executing strategies that enhance profitability.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Scale for growth: Lead the acquisition of new data centre clients by building strong and trusted relationships. Structure, negotiate and close high-value energy sales agreements to achieve or exceed sales targets
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to take the business forward in improvement of profitability of our various segments
Market and Product Expansion: Identify and evaluate expansion opportunities into new markets, products or partnerships to to drive client acquisition in the data centre segment, facilitating organic growth and improvement in profitability
Organizational Development: Ensure that the team has the capability to scale alongside business growth, in alignment with corporate priorities
Any other ad hoc duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
Degree/Masters in Engineering / Economics / Business.
About 10 years of proven experience in sales and account management, preferably within the data centre or power and utilities industries
Skills/competencies & Preferred Characteristics
Strong understanding of hyperscalers and colocation providers
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to analyse complex real world problems and articulate key messages.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, strong accountability and ability to lead and motivate teams to drive successful outcomes
Strong commercial background, with track record of managing financials
