About the roleWe are looking for a Principal Adviser - Molybdenum and By products Sales to join the Copper commercial team.The role will be responsible for sales of molybdenum and intermediate products in Asia (including but not limited to China, Japan, Korea). This is an exciting and broad sales portfolio across the region\'s customer base covering the key steps of sales the process - from providing key inputs to strategy formation, customer development, relationship management and commercial negotiation, as well as contracting, and executing spot sales within the delegated authority and alignment with team, contributing to enhanced commercial outcomes. Travel around the region will be required.This role is a great opportunity for an individual who enjoys the challenge of building stakeholder relationships (external and internal), driving commercial outcomes within a Team, and is looking for the opportunity to manage strategic relationships, place product into key markets and grow new outlets for products.Reporting to and working closely with the Manager Moly and By Products who is based in Chicago, you will need to:
  • Be a strong and passionate self-starter.
  • Continue to foster and strengthen existing relationships with customers and service providers, develop new markets such as India.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the Asian market, identify opportunities and monetize on those to deliver strong results.
  • Collaborate with Sales team members (not just Molybdenum but other Steel products such as Irone Ore) in EU, North American regions to maintain a well-rounded view of the market.
  • Implement sales strategy and plans to deliver molybdenum and other copper intermediates sales performance (revenue, margin and tonnes).
  • Driving market and competitor intelligence from the region to provide commercial insights upon which short-term sales strategies can be based.
  • Identifying sources to procure raw materials when needed, develop and maintain strong relationships with tolling service providers.
  • Identifying and implementing supply chain risk management solutions as required for Molybdenum sales and other intermediates in Asia.
About youTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • University degree in either a commercial or technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in sales and marketing across the base metals or bulk commodities sector.
  • Proven track record in leading or being involved in commercial negotiations and delivering top results.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to interact at all levels of the organisation and with customers.
  • Ability to think creatively and find ways to deliver strong and sustainable commercial outcomes
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing abilities
  • Strong drive and hunger to drive commercial performances.
  • Language skills: Chinese and Japanese would be to advantage
