Maritime Advisory Singapore is a consulting and Research & Innovation unit overseeing activities in the South East Asia, Pacific and India region. DNV's ambition is to be a data-smart solutions organisation providing management and technical advisory services within the maritime industry. Our key stakeholders include charterers and cargo owners, asset owners for ships and mobile offshore units, maritime authorities/governmental entities and defence, shipyards, banks/investment/leasing companies with interest on maritime assets and infrastructure, LNG suppliers and traders, and maritime technology providers and the digital eco-system/start-ups. We are currently focusing our consulting and research activities in Singapore within the areas of maritime decarbonisation and autonomy.

The candidate will be overseeing/managing the R&D, Innovation activities, and consulting projects within the areas of maritime decarbonization, digital transformation, and autonomy. These will involve vessel electrifications, hybridization, and remote control center including the use of new technologies in the maritime sector such as IOT/Edge, autonomous and zero-emission vessels, and data platform/data analytics.

As a Principal Consultant / Head of Research and Development, you will be part of an experienced and diverse team conducting research & innovation activities or delivering customized solutions to our clients in Singapore and within the region, covering all elements of analysis and capability improvement projects leveraging on Digitalisation, Automation and Big Data Analytics. The selected individual can expect to work in a dynamic, high-performing team with diverse backgrounds, nationalities and experience, leveraging on DNV global network, accelerated learning curve and working on exciting projects with meaningful impact to the client's organisation and wider maritime industry.

Position Qualifications

The right candidates will have the following background:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Studies, or related field with minimum 8 years of working experience in Consulting, R&D, or maritime industry.
• Possess strong stakeholder management, project management, excellent communication, networking, and influencing skills.
• Adaptable, resilient, self-motivated, and driven for results.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and able to work within a team and do well in both start-up and corporate environments
• Develops Joint Industry Projects with the maritime ecosystem
• Engage stakeholders and lead in internal/external discussions
• Flexible and inquisitive mindset, with the willingness to collaborate with peers.
• Contributes with new ideas, is agile in thinking, and fast learner.
• Communicate, using appropriate channels, in a clear, open, and honest manner.
