We are currently looking for a Principal Consultant, Sustainable Computing to join our Business and Technology Group. Our group focuses on driving industry adoption of frontier technologies, such as AI, 5G and Trust Technologies, and work with the National Research Foundation, Institutes of Higher Learning and Research Institutes on upstream research and translation at scale.

The successful candidate is part of the Software and Applications Engineering team and closely collaborate with the Emerging Technology Office identify and develop applications and solutions to address the needs of wide-ranging, impactful industry problems. The successful candidate will be part of the team to identify, dive deep and evaluate trends and technologies in Sustainable Computing, and to develop implementable strategies around them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert in Sustainable Computing, providing guidance and leadership on strategy and assessment around initiatives for industry that are energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and aligned with industry best practices
• Leverage familiarity with data center operations, server virtualization, cloud computing, networking and AI training/deployment to support endeavors in sustainable computing from both a scientific perspective (e.g. AI model training optimisation), and technical implementation thereof
• Own the state of Sustainable Computing and assess strategies and implementations across the globe to advise on and impact national level endeavours
• Drive the identification and implementation of Sustainable computing technologies and methodologies for reduction of footprint of products developed in-house
• Conduct research on emerging trends in Sustainable computing and develop thought leadership content to be shared within and beyond the organization
• Translate complex scientific and technical research knowledge to content for sharing across a range of audiences
• Measure and assess implementations of Sustainable Computing Technologies and provide recommendations on iterative improvement
• Support the development of Sustainable Computing proposals, through implementation to success evaluation
• Contribute to demonstrations, presentations and sharing sessions
• Write thought leadership articles, including blogs and papers, on Sustainable Computing and related best practices
• Support transfer technology to industry partners

Qualifications and Skills:

• Holds at least Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• At least 10 years of experience in working with and managing technology teams in research and/or engineering
• Strategic thinker with collaborative attitude and a strong team player.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong presentation and engagement skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills to work with both local and overseas partners and stakeholders

Position will be commensurate with experience.
