What the role is:We are seeking experienced engineers to elevate our software quality assurance (QA) framework and practices. You will play a key role in shaping a culture of excellence, driving QA processes to ensure our software systems meet the highest standards, be it mission-critical combat management systems with stringent safety requirements or large-scale enterprise software systems that demands robustness. Our team fosters autonomy in your career path, while offering you the chance work alongside passionate professionals who are committed to improve product quality and apply engineering principles to solve diverse and complex challenges..What you will be working on:Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive software QA framework across multiple Programme Centres in DSTA. Establish and monitor quality metrics to ensure high standards are consistently met. Support various DSTA Programme Centres in software QA functions and drive the adoption of automated testing across projects to enhance quality and delivery speed. Perform software QA audits and certifications. Stay ahead of the curve by planning and integrating the latest QA advancements into enterprise -wide processes to ensure DSTA remains at the forefront of software quality. Establish and guide software engineering practices, testing methodologies and standards to guide support software development teams.What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. At least 6 years of experience in software QA, including 2 years of hands-on development experience. Candidates with stronger technical expertise and substantial experience will be considered for a Senior Principal Engineer role. Relevant skills & experience Proven experience in establishing software QA processes or and performing software QA functions. Familiarity with static code analysis tools for quality and security such as Parasoft, Fortify, and SonaQube. Experience with test automation (functional and/or load testing) and triaging code violations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills. Passionate about innovation in software quality solutions. It would be advantageous if you have: Certifications in software QA, quality engineering or testing (e.g., ISTQB certification). Familiarity with industry software quality frameworks, standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO25010, ISO12207, CMMI). Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, Java, Java Script). Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Scrum, Extreme Programming and Scaled Agile Framework.
