What the role is:Principal Geospatial Engineer, GeoSpatial Technology & ApplicationSingapore Land Authority is the geospatial agency in Singapore, managing and operating a public map platform to provide localised and accurate map data and location-based services (LBS) to serve many government agencies, private sectors and general public. We are looking for an experienced Principal Geospatial Engineer to join our diverse and multi-disciplined engineering team to improve various geospatial data services and drive innovation in 3D geospatial application. This is an excellent opportunity to expose and apply geospatial technologies for public good and make a real-life impact.What you will be working on:Work with cross-functional teams - product managers, app developers, and business users to identify the technical and functional needs of geospatial data and services;Lead the design and development of geospatial solution such as intelligent routing and 3D optimised rendering in web;Implement efficient data processing, conversion, and integration pipeline to ensure the quality, accuracy, and accessibility of diverse geospatial data;Stay abreast of the latest geospatial technologies and industry trends, and drive the initiatives to explore and integrate emerging geospatial technologies into our products.What we are looking for:Degree preferably in the areas of Geospatial Science/Technology, GIS, Computer Science or equivalent;3-5 years of industry experience in geospatial solutioning and data management;Expertise in data ETL (e.g., FME tool, Python Scripting) with diverse geospatial data types, including 2D and 3D data, vector maps, raster maps, GeoJSON, orthophotos, and more;Solid understanding of web-based geospatial data visualisation (e.g., WebGL, D3, Leaflet), REST API development, relational databases (e.g., PostGIS) is a plus;Experience with cloud-based geospatial services (e.g., AWS) or geospatial application in industry sector (e.g., transportation) will be an added advantage;Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.About Singapore Land Authority:The mission of the Singapore Land Authority is to optimise land resources for the economic and social development of Singapore.
