Job Description


:

A. School Development

  • Formulating school development plan (both short term and long term) for the Board of Directors\xe2\x80\x99 approval.
  • Execution and monitoring of the school development plan to achieve the goals of the school.
  • Ascertaining the school\xe2\x80\x99s development needs, evaluating and revising as necessary
B. Marketing
  • Work closely with marketing personnel on strategic marketing of the school to achieve target student population.
  • Achieve a quality school image in the community.
  • Interact with prospective parents, when possible, to explain the curriculum and the ethos of the school.
C. Curriculum Development and Enforcement of Teaching and Learning Standards
  • Development of a positive school ethos.
  • Accountable for the quality, balance and relevance of the academic, pastoral and after-school activities in the curriculum received by the students within the framework of the curriculum adopted by the school.
  • Accountable for the quality of teaching delivered by the teaching staff, monitor and review teaching and learning standards.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of professional development for the staff
  • To take on a teaching role in the school, as and when required
D. Management of the School and School Resources
  • Responsible for the internal organization and day to day management of the school.
  • Responsible for the smooth and efficient operations of school.
  • To formulate the overall aims and objectives of the school following the ethos of EtonHouse Schools and develop policies for their implementation.
  • To establish standard operating procedures for operation particularly regarding education matters.
  • To ensure that there are adequate and efficient resources to deliver the curriculum and to minimize wastage of resources.
  • To supervise the Finance Manager and be accountable for budgeting and financial management of the school, submitting monthly accurate regularly management account to the board of directors together with the finance manager.
  • To install and maintain discipline, based on positive reinforcement and EtonHouse philosophy
  • To motivate all the staff, teaching and non-teaching staff, to positively work towards the School\xe2\x80\x99s objectives.
  • To participate in the selection of teaching staff and non-teaching staff.
  • To monitor, review and improve teaching and learning standards
  • To maintain a system of staff performance appraisal, goal setting, mentoring and counselling
  • To maintain good relationships with parents and facilitate appropriate contacts between staff and parents
  • To ascertain school development needs, evaluating and revising as necessary
  • To effectively manage the School assets.
E. Other duties as discussed and agreed from time to time.

Qualifications:
  • A Master\xe2\x80\x99s or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Education.
  • 5 years of leadership experience in an International School.
  • 8 to 10 years of teaching experience in an International School working with preschool and primary children.
  • Training and experience in International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) is essential.
  • Experience in inquiry based curriculum is preferred.
  • A leader who regard the child as the first and singularly most important consideration.
  • A resilient leader with the ability to navigate through ambiguity.
  • A self-starter who is able to think on your feet and work under pressure.
  • A people leader with the charisma to motivate and inspire your team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • International experience, especially in Asia, is highly valued.
