1. DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION The Senior MWS Engineer within MWS Department shall take a senior engineering role in the performance of design analyses and technical review of drawings, calculation reports and operation procedures, vessel inspections and site attendances for loadout, transport and installation of fixed platforms, subsea pipelines and mobile offshore units. 2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior MWS Engineer shall be responsible for supporting Marine Warranty Projects Onshore, Offshore and Subsea Installation and Tenders as follows:

  • Take a senior role in performing technical review of specific procedures (validation test on site, transportation and installation) and associated calculation notes (design lifting slings).
  • Take a senior role in supporting all ongoing preliminary studies and documents related to tenders and projects developed by the Marine Operations Business Stream. Assist with tenders and project development, including equipment specification, costing and procurement.
  • Provide technical comments and support on Design Reports, Engineering Studies, Method Statements, Installation Procedures, Task Plans, Project Schedules, etc. in support of Marine Warranty activities.
  • Able to develop method statement and schedules, write technical reports including preform calculations.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation and project correspondence in accordance with the company document management system.
  • Prepare and perform project presentations during HAZOP, Design and Constructability Reviews as Marine Warranty.
  • Take a senior role in supporting mobilization for onshore/ offshore installation activities; attend site visits, trials and verification activities; and attend Client, Vendor and Sub-Contractor meetings; offshore operations.
  • Perform duties as marine rep, of marine warranty surveyor, or field engineer for project work
  • Continuous improvement to company's best engineering practice and impart lessons learnt.
  • Be familiar with all relevant Industry Rules, Regulations, Standards and Practices.
  • Assist Junior Engineers to improve their knowledge and skills and provide a leading example to them.
  • Provide a pro-active approach to QHSE issues.
  • Observe all Company Visions, Values and follow the company Management System requirements.
  • Have the technical expertise for the procurement process, and confirm the project's progress at interim meetings
  • Attend client meeting as Global Maritime technical Rep
  • Preform preliminary studies related to tenders and projects developed by the Marine Operations Business Stream
  • Able to perform the engineering activities including mobilization of equipment and materials for Offshore operations
  • You bring technical expertise during the procurement process, and confirm the project's progress at interim meetings
  • You warrant that your activities are conducted in compliance with the Project standards in terms of Quality, Cost & Time.
  • You support the development of computational tools and organize technology watch.
3. CAPABILITY PROFILE – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS General
  • Engineering Degree with at least sufficient years related industry experience. Chartered (if appropriate).
  • Experience of technical software eg MOSES, ORCAFLEX, STAADPRO, SACS, NASTRAN, and AutoCAD
  • You have a good knowledge of Rigid Pipelay, Flexible Flowlines and Umbilicals Installation, or Structures Installation or alternatively offshore wind farm installation experience
  • Experience in shipbuilding or engineering design within the oil & gas sector
  • Thorough knowledge of naval architecture, structural and subsea systems
  • Broad and good knowledge of offshore marine operations and vessel surveys
  • Onshore and offshore attendances during loadout, transport and installation of offshore structures
  • Some management responsibility.
  • General knowledge of project management and administration.
  • Acquainted in Legislation and Standards for the area of responsibility.
  • Technical expert within his/her group.
  • Familiar with technical software within his/her field.
  • Familiar with Safety and Quality policy.
  • Dynamic, independent and pro-active.
Specific
  • Extensive knowledge relating to the Onshore, Offshore and Subsea Installation activities, and vessel inspection.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Physical environment: Majority of the work is carried out in the local office, however regular offshore, site and “out of office” work is expected.
  • Working hours according to local regulations and Company policy.
