Summary Role: Principal RD&D Data Scientist Industry 4.0, Job Grade 45
Maxeon is seeking a world-class Principal RD&D Data Scientist Industry 4.0 based in Singapore. It is expected that most of this work will be carried out at a new state-of-the-art Maxeon RD&D Laboratory in Singapore. J ob responsibilities include research and development of new solar technology that pushes the limit of efficiency at lower cost, working closely with Maxeon\xe2\x80\x99s renowned US based R&D team, and supporting existing teams in deploying and optimizing solar technology at Maxeon\xe2\x80\x99s factories. This work is expected to include both cell and module technology development for Maxeon\xe2\x80\x99s advanced product portfolio. The goal of these activities is to support Maxeon\xe2\x80\x99s business objectives, including market expansion, with targeted advanced technology .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable data sources such as factories MES and SPC systems
Using machine learning tools to select features, create and optimize classifiers
Carrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems
Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis
Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions
Work closely with factory teams and the Industry 4.0 team to advance high efficiency state of the art module products using machine learning algorithms
Innovate relentlessly on new module designs to reduce cost, improve manufacturability, and enhance reliability or meet new market segment needs.
Ensure that your project milestones and deliverables are met, delivered on time, and adhere to approved budgets.
Work closely with Maxeon organizations outside of the Singapore location.
Help develop company technology and product goals, plan technology projects and deliver these goals using the Maxeon business processes.
Provide excellent communication within Maxeon to facilitate tracking and coordinating technology and product development goals and milestones.

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD Degree with at least 4 years additional relevant R&D experience or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to lead complex interdisciplinary projects to achieve goals on time and on budget. Demonstrated ability to lead and guide a team. Gather data from a variety of internal and external sources, clean and amalgamate that data, and use programming, math, statistical and analytical skills to interpret that data.
Experience with machine learning algorithms using Python, C++, or other advanced programming languages.
Design custom tools to optimize data mining, cleaning, validation and analysis tasks
Develop and apply custom data models and algorithms to data sets
Develop tools and testing models to ensure data accuracy
Create and present reports that detail your findings, recommendations and solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on flexible thinking and creativity.
Willing to travel in Asia, Mexico, and US up to 25% of the time.

Preferred requirements
Experience with business intelligence and data analytics tools such as Tableau
Proficient technical writing and speaking skills
Familiarity with machine learning techniques and when they should be used
Familiarity with statistical and data mining techniques and when it is appropriate to use them
Strong problem-solving skills
