The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) invites applications for the position of Principal Research Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect and develop embedded control systems, motion control power electronics and safety systems

Lead a team of electrical and electronics research engineers and collaborate closely with the R&D team

Design, maintain, implement, and improve PCB components, electrical system, and power electronics of current and future products

Collaborate with mechanical, software and research engineers to develop, test, validate electrical and power systems and related OEM products

Performing site assessments, creating, or evaluating electrical models, performing engineering studies and calculations, validating performance of technology on distributed power systems

Experience in electrical schema/architecture designs including layout, assembly, testing and troubleshooting

Job Requirements:

Possess a Master\xe2\x80\x99s or PhD degree in Electrical engineering or any related or advanced degree preferred. In absence of advanced or graduate degrees, industry experience of more than 25 years specific to advance power electronics research and development from concept stage to serial product manufacturing stage.

Highly experienced and in-depth knowledge in high power converter design including solving EMI/EMC issues, insulation/isolation and safety requirements, PCB layout, prototyping, electromagnetic design, and translating the design to serial production

Knowledgeable with the various electrical and electronics engineering standards, industry products, and practices

Experience in designing different types of power converter and inverter circuit topology, selection of hardware components

In depth knowledge in software simulation package for high power converter design, electromagnetic design and other electronics circuit analysis design tools

Background experience in mechanical design and packaging of high power converter system
