What the role is:We seek an experienced and highly motivated researcher to further expand and strengthen the vector-borne disease research programme at the Environmental Health Institute (EHI), National Environment Agency (NEA).What you will be working on:The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of researchers focusing on vector-pathogen interactions, vector biology, arbovirology, molecular biology and novel vector control tools. In addition, you will design and implement multi-disciplinary research that will explore the underlying factors affecting biting arthropods\' ability to transmit pathogens and their role in the emergence and evolution of pathogens. By integrating expertise from various fields, your work will enhance our understanding of the capacity of local biting arthropods to transmit and spread endemic and exotic pathogens. Findings will contribute to developing evidence-based public health intervention plans to mitigate vector-borne disease risk in Singapore.You are required to apply advanced concepts and technologies to innovate and develop new methodologies related to vector-pathogen interactions. You will also be involved in other studies to support Singapore\'s vector surveillance and control programme and expected to publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The successful candidate will be working closely with international and local scientific experts.
