About the Role



This role, reporting to the Head of Credit and Market Risk (HoCMR), will provide thought leadership and demonstrate solid project management skills. Responsible for improving the overall governance around the Commercial material risks, Commercial risk framework, business level documents, risk committee and supporting projects and activities.
  • Leads the design, maintenance and continuous improvement of the overall governance of the Commercial risk framework and credit and market risk related business level documents
  • Supports the HoCMR with accountabilities in relation to Commercial material risks and Commercial Risk Committee
  • Partners with colleagues across functions to contribute to managing risk governance deliverables, including ensuring that risks are effectively remediated
  • Coordinates and manages ad-hoc projects, including risk improvement initiatives, such as SOX, controls effectiveness tests, system upgrades and growth projects across sub teams
  • Coaches and provides direction to the Commercial team in relation to the risk governance matters
  • Demonstrates solid ability to challenge the status quo and devise a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems and drive progress
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player, who takes ownership and accountability of projects, has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities for wide-ranging programs
  • Proven ability to effectively manage operational risks and to develop control enhancement - experience in process mapping and change management

This role is located in Singapore.

About You



Qualifications and Experience
  • At least 10-15 years relevant experience in a risk management environment, preferably in commodities firms or trading houses
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics or Applied Finance
  • Professional qualifications in risk or finance an advantage (FRM, CFA, CQF, etc).
  • Exposure to physical commodities trading is an advantage
  • Good understanding of financial instruments
  • Track record of excellent stakeholder engagement

  • Entrepreneurial, can-do attitude and self-motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player who is also able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
