We are seeking an accomplished Principal Scientist with deep expertise in cell line development to lead our efforts in creating scalable cell culture platforms for the production of Cellivate's Booster. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of experience in cell biology, stem cell research, and aquaculture biotechnology, with a strong record of innovation, publication, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Cell Line Development & Characterization
Develop and immortalize cell lines from a range of mammalian and marine species, including mesenchymal, embryonic, myoblast, and pre-adipocyte cells.
Optimize cell culture media and differentiation protocols for different applications.
Adapt adherent cell lines to suspension culture and scale-up systems (spinner flasks, bioreactors).
Differentiation & Media Formulation
Design and refine serum-free, cost-effective culture media for large-scale cell proliferation and differentiation.
Formulate differentiation cocktails for cell maturation supporting different applications,
Research Leadership
Lead multidisciplinary R&D teams and mentor junior scientists, research interns and students.
Manage project timelines, deliverables, and collaborations with academic and industrial partners.
Contribute to grant writing and business development activities through proposal preparation and technical presentations.
Scientific Contribution
Publish and present research findings in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
Drive innovation in aquatic stem cell biology, regenerative biology, and scalable bioproduction technologies.
Support intellectual property generation through invention disclosures and patent applications.
Qualifications & Experience
Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology or a related field
Specialization in cell line development.
10 years of research experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or principal investigator role.
Proven expertise in:
+ Primary culture, cloning, karyotyping, and immortalization of aquatic cells.
+ Molecular and cellular assays (PCR, qPCR, flow cytometry, immunostaining).
+ Suspension culture, bioreactor operation, and serum-free media optimization. Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and managing scientific personnel.
Experience in cultivated meats, aquaculture biotechnology, or cellular agriculture preferred.
