The Role

The aim for the role is to carry out specialized marine fires and explosions surveys including but not limited to technical consultancy, forensic investigations, damage investigations and expert witness in court, arbitrations and mediations. You will be based in Singapore, but will be involved in carrying out global surveying projects.

Key Responsibilities

• The focus is on vessels, on shore structures in general as well as several type of liquid and solid bulk cargoes.
• Investigating the reason and cause of fires and explosions, evaluating their extent
• Provide advice/support to clients in marine fires related matters
• Produce letters and updates detailing the findings of the investigations and/ or attendances
• Prepare technically accurate and timely reports as required
• Provide expert opinion/evidence in court/arbitration in relation to their written expert testimony
• Follow company operating procedures
• Assist from time to time in business development and marketing activities
• Any other ad hoc duties of a Fire and Explosions Expert and Consultant

Required Skills

• Previous experience in this field as fire expert in a renowned consultancy firm
• Possibly a PHD or at least a degree related to chemistry, fires and explosions
• Physically active to attend on site, including on ships or at shipyards \xe2\x80\x93 able to travel at short notice
• Highly motivated, positive, approachable, enthusiastic and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
• Able to work independently
