SIG Venture Capital is the Southeast Asian and Indian venture capital arm of the Susquehanna International Group of Companies, a global proprietary trading and investment firm founded in 1987. What we're looking for

The role

The investment analyst will be based in Jakarta as part of the Southeast Asia team but also have exposure to our India opportunities. SIG operates in a flat hierarchy where only the quality of your ideas and arguments matter, regardless of title or years of experience. We form opinions on situations, sectors, and companies quickly, are comfortable to challenge each others views and assumptions, and creatively solve problems. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with entrepreneurs with an attention to detail. Given the lean structure and fast-paced environment, the candidate is expected to be independent, resourceful, take initiative and bring a positive-sum approach to all endeavours and a sense of humour. The ideal candidate has experience working in venture capital, corporate development, or corporate advisory/audit from Big 4.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of business models, markets and specific companies alongside your teammates to contribute to investment origination and execution. This involves:

• Quantitatively and qualitatively assessing market sizes, competitor dynamics, regulatory & industry outlook
• Scrutinizing the financials of a business and modelling potential outcomes
• Evaluating operational metrics and benchmarking them with business models in other markets
• Writing clear, concise investment memos that distil the salient risks, highlights and lowlights of a proposal
• Presenting a detailed future state of the world that holds logical ties to the present and charting the course forward
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to assist in structuring, negotiating and closing deal documentation and implement due diligence exercises
• Work with portfolio companies to provide support for specific value creation initiatives while being a thought partner for the founding teams leveraging the breadth of SIGs resources
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships in the ecosystem

Qualifications

• Team player who can build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced dynamic environment
• Strong critical independent thinking skills which include:

• Being able to methodically distil the pros and cons of a particular situation
• Not being overly influenced by the conventional thinking - willing to research and defend a non-conventional view
• Being able to assess new information and incorporate/adjust into original thesis
• Proficiency with financial analysis - understand key accounting and cash flow concepts with modelling skills
• Experience formulating quantitative and qualitative assessments in writing for new business initiatives
• Ability to represent SIG values - integrity, cooperation, and excellence in our endeavours
• Superior work ethic and attention to detail - self starter with natural curiosity to learn
• Start up work experience in business or corporate development a plus
• Bilingual English/native Bahasa Indonesia proficiency preferred
• 2 years + experience from Big 4 encouraged to apply
• Full working rights in Indonesia preferred

Position will be based in Jakarta and will require occasional travel to Singapore.
