Mission Details

Arkema is recruiting for the start-up of its Jurong Island plant in Singapore, a Process Engineer Sector.

The plant in Singapore is new and combines monomer and polymer production. It is the result of exceptional investments and aims to support strong demand from the customers in Asia.
In a context of a plant start-up, cultural, managerial and technical issues will challenge the employees.
Monomer process is of great complexity and involves hazardous materials.

Under the authority of the Head of Process, your role is :

  • To analyse and improve the processes according to the similar processes in Arkema
  • To improve productivity and profitability
  • To improve process safety
Upon request of the Head of Process, he/she might have to work on studies conducted in other sectors, depending on the study priorities, and load plan of the moment.

ACTIVITY
You are responsible for multiple Sectors and contribute to improve the performance of both Sectors, in terms of reliability, efficiency, quality, process safety, environment and variable costs.

HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT, QUALITY AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
  • Promote the company\'s EHSQ policy and other requirement.
  • Report any incidents, accidents or near miss immediately to HSE department.
LEADERSHIP
  • Expected to tutor and or train new comers (junior process engineer, production staff) in their area of expertise.
  • Take the lead on process-related topics.
Required Profile

Education: Master degree chemical engineering or equivalent with 3 years mini of working experience in chemical plant process engineering.

Knowledge:
  • Process Calculation (ASPEN or other Simulation tools), statistics, data reconciliation software.
  • Knowledge of single process operations of chemical engineering.
  • Knowledge of Process Hazard risk analysis methodologies
Skills:
  • A team player with good interpersonal communication skills

  • Fluent in English
Soft skills:
  • Curious
  • Self-motivated, independent and proactive
Status: 2 years in expatriation
