Job Description

Responsibilities

• Analyses and evaluates logistics services (warehouse spaces and freight forwarding services)
• Negotiates with logistics service providers and plan for the most cost effective route for freight
• Reviews purchase requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with the project requirement and a time schedule
• Liaises with project team and external vendors to ensure that the equipment/parts and materials are delivered within project\'s specification and budget but taking appropriate measures for the movement of delicate goods
• Manages full spectrum of purchasing process for logistics services (sourcing, quotation, negotiation, shipping and delivery, etc)
• Issues and processes of purchase order to freight forwarding companies/logistics companies accordance with company policies and procedures
• Expedites order, monitor and follow up with freight forwarding companies/logistics companies to ensure timely delivery and safe storage
• Proposes recommendation for freight forwarding companies and logistics companies\' performances
• Coordinates all warehouse operation matters to ensure all are in good order
• Resolves any discrepancy found on delivered equipment and material upon receiving
• Ensures proper gathering and distribution of all records, forms and reports pertaining to the receiving, storage, movement and control of equipment/ materials
• Checks countries\' legal requirements to make sure all the appropriate documentation (eg insurance and customs forms) is filled out
• Stays up-to-date with relevant political activities and legislation that might impact the transportation of freight
• Organises payments or processes transactions on behalf of the company/projects, such as freight charges

Requirements:

• Preferably Diploma in Engineering/Process/Marine Offshore/Logistics/ Supply Chain Management or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience. Knowledge of topside equipment will be an added advantage
• Possesses good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to multi-task and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in freight forwarding will be an added advantage
