The client is a multinational chemical company that operates globally. It has grown to become a leading producer of speciality chemicals, and synthetic resins. The client\'s diverse product portfolio includes resins, films, fibers, chemicals, raw materials, wastewater and other advanced materials.
The Procurement Advisor/Consultant supports the Managing Director and Manufacturing Director in managing OSBL contract negotiations, which encompass utilities, raw materials, wastewater/liquid, and related contractors.
Their responsibilities include:
Strategically plan, direct, and negotiate all OSBL contracts to optimize the company\'s benefits concerning contract duration, timing, cost impact, supply reliability, and business continuity flexibility.
Collaborate with managers, project teams, and head office (in Japan and other global entities) to resolve issues between various divisions/departments/project teams, ensuring rational and reasonable decision-making.
Identify and assess risks, affecting the company\'s business, finance, and operations, and provide recommendations for effective actions.
Ideate solutions based on past experiences to enhance internal operations in daily transactions or project-related activities.
Conduct external audits for suppliers/vendors or evaluate and propose corrective/preventive/improvement actions.
Provide advice and support to purchasing or project teams to streamline and optimize their activities and workflows.
Adhoc duties as assigned by superiors.
The Successful Applicant
At least 5 years of working experience in petrochemicals or energy industries.
Diploma/Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Experience in contract negotiations, direct purchasing and procurement.
