Role Purpose
The purpose of the Product Manager (PM) role is to serve as a vital link between the technical and business domains, guiding a medium to large product or specific component from conception to launch. The PM will be responsible for managing the entire product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision while executing hands-on operational tasks. This role emphasizes breaking down complex problems into actionable steps that drive product development, facilitating resource management, and fostering innovation. Additionally, the PM will engage in stakeholder management to ensure successful product delivery, ultimately achieving business value outcomes through operational excellence and a commitment to innovation.
The role location is Singapore or Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
The key tasks of an IT Product Manager can vary depending on the specific product being managed. However, here are tasks we expect IT Product Managers to do:

• Product Roadmap Planning: Create and manage the product roadmap, which outlines the planned features vs approved process (how they work), prototyping designs, enhancements, and releases over time. Work alongside your business product manager and stakeholders to prioritize features based on business value and technical feasibility.
• Service Acceptance: Engages with delivery teams to confirm that products developed meet the service acceptance criteria and are to the required standard. Provides input into change control processes.
• Technology Vision: To possess a good enough knowledge of DHL Express architecture landscape & leverage relationships and industry knowledge from channel partners and enterprise architecture groups to promote innovation & steer the technology stack for a product.
• Release & Risk Management: Oversee the product development lifecycle, including identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to address and minimize these risks.
• Product Launch and Go-to-Market: Leads small, medium products or projects, managing risks, plans, and stakeholders. Tracks progress, ensuring scope, quality, and resources stay on course, adjusting as needed.
• Quality Assurance Tracking and Analysis: Monitor and analyze key product metrics, such as user engagement, deployment footprint rate, user group satisfaction, to assess product performance. Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions.

Stakeholders

• Development Team: Collaborate on product development, clarify product requirements, and address any obstacles to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
• IT Leadership: Align with strategic objectives, progress report, and discuss potential risks or issues for swift resolution.
• Business Stakeholders: Understand business needs, translate them into product requirements, and ensure the product aligns with business objectives. Gather feedback and ensure that the product meets their needs, making necessary adjustments based on their feedback.
• Suppliers/Vendors: Manage relationships to ensure timely and quality delivery of services or products necessary for product development.
• Cross-functional Teams: Collaborate with Global, regional, and functional teams to ensure consistency in product messaging and gather insights that can be used in product development and improvement.
• Project Management Office (PMO): Coordinate on project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Compliance and Legal Teams: Ensure product compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
• Quality Assurance Team: Work together to ensure the product meets quality standards and passes all necessary tests before delivery.
• IT Senior Management Team, Process Groups, or other relevant Network, Regional, Country business & IT groups, ITS Express Solutions, External Channel Partners.

Do you have what it takes?

• BS/BA degree majoring in software engineering or equivalent working experience in a software development oriented organization or function.
• 2-3 years of experience building technical products, ideally development or DevSecOps environment.
• Experience creating product roadmap(s) from conception to launch, driving the product vision, and leading design discussions.
• Exposure to managing IT portfolio and IT Service delivery will be beneficial.
• Has a thorough understanding of recognized generic industry bodies of knowledge and specialist bodies of knowledge as necessary.
• Has gained a thorough knowledge of the domain of the organization.
• Can apply the knowledge effectively in unfamiliar situations.
• Actively maintains own knowledge and shares it with others.
• Rapidly absorbs and critically assesses new information.
• Applies new information effectively.
