Job Description

The Product Manager is responsible for achieving the sales and profit targets for the related product groups and creating the highest return for both the organization and the vendors. This is a KPI driven position where revenue outcomes will be achieved through marketing programs, sales training, sales support, technical pre-sales support, vendor contract and vendor relationship. These activities, especially sales and marketing are targeted at both the organization's extended sales team and their partner ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating and implementing business plan for vendor product group and associated services to achieve agreed vendor revenue targets and generate planned profit outcomes by brand and market segments
  • Develop and implement sales enablement programs for the organization and its partners.
  • Develop and implement marketing programs to support product group objectives.
  • Creating of joint initiatives with the organization's vendor and business partners.
  • Ensuring technical sales support teams are appropriately trained to support the relevant product groups.
  • Coordinate the various functions within the organization to deliver the product plan outcomes.
  • Maintain, develop, and ensure that executive business relations with vendor partners are of the highest order, are proactive and that the engagement is continually monitored so that new initiatives can be introduced as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of sales processes, proposals, pipeline management, partner engagement to execute product leadership
  • Maintenance of an accurate pipeline by product group.
  • Measurement and maintenance of critical product group performance data to ensure meeting of vendor commitments and fully leveraging all commercial opportunities.
  • Business forecasting and business planning for product groups with vendors.
  • Provision of reports for commercial decision making.
  • Close collaboration with Channels sales Director to provide direction, development, and support
Job Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of prior IT sales experience
  • At least Diploma or Bachelor's Degree
  • IT Distribution Experience is a plus
  • Appropriate vendor product sales certifications
  • Self-starter with sound business acumen
  • Results focused
  • Ability to work with little direction
  • Capacity to lead vertical teams
  • Influence business outcomes without having direct control
