Job Purpose

Research, analyze, design, build, support, deliver and/or test advanced technology or service solutions of small scale and low-to medium complexity that are high-quality, innovative, efficient, creative, scalable, adaptable, dynamic, fully performing and comply with all standards and best practices in support of business and Client outcomes and objectives. Works independently and applies advanced product or service management skills, tools, practices, and techniques to all deliverables. Exhibits advanced understanding of core product or service management concepts such as: strategic thinking, delivery, user science & empathy, A/B testing, usability, agile planning, design thinking, and focused on learning more about these domains and continuously honing their craft. Ability to focus on task at hand, follow-through on prescribed plan with ability to be flexible and think under pressure. Highly motivated team player with a strong desire to learn, grow, and continuously improve.

Major Accountabilities

Get to the root of problems facing our clients before jumping to solutions.

Lead squad adoption of client obsessed practices, leveraging design thinking frameworks and playbook approaches.

Lead the planning and execution of client research and design workshop practices to build and execute the Product Roadmap and OKR creation.

Synthesize information from multiple channels such as direct client feedback, stakeholder feedback, market research, competitor analysis, and user testing.

Author feature briefs and user stories, conduct acceptance testing and create detailed release notes and wiki-based product documentation.

Ensure key squad level artefacts are created and maintained. Examples: current/future state client journey maps, personas, empathy maps, story boards etc.

Work hand in hand with the Squad & UX designer to create amazing user experiences.

Review and prioritize backlogs in preparation for increment and/or related planning activities and make appropriate trade-offs to optimize value delivery

When necessary, work in conjunction with the technical support team to triage and assess production issues, perform impact analysis, and provide support to the engineering team to bring issues to resolution.

Specialized knowledge

Experienced with agile development and other SDLCs

Ability to collaborate with technical leadership to strike the appropriate trade-off between technical design and functionality

Be curious and data driven - contribute to the definition, data collection, and analysis of data for KPIs and product metrics.

Problem Solving

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to guide subject matter experts towards solutions

Solution-oriented mindsight with an ability to balance short vs long term trade-offs

Track record of independently assessing problems and articulating business needs in the form of user stories

Education and Experience

Masters or Bachelor degree

Minimum 7- 10 years of working experience with at least 4-5 in insurance or financial services

Minimum 2-3 years working experience as a Product Manager (preferred), Business Analyst, Project Manager

Minimum 2-3 years working as part of a team in an Agile delivery environment

Qualification in Agile Project Management and/or Lean/Six Sigma is strongly preferred

Communication Scope

Proficient written and oral English

Exceptional stakeholder management, conflict handling and communication skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Track record of leading and coaching distributed cross-cultural team members in a matrix structure0

Management Scope

No direct reports initially

Functional lead for the business unit to 3-4 Agile delivery squads of approximately 6-8 members each

Travel

International travel may be required soon after start date; estimated travel
5% of working time per year
