About the role As the leader of a product development squad, you will have an autonomy and responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of sprint goals, in line with the product roadmap. You’ll work closely with our team to help build and scale our products for global merchants. All of this while being guided and mentored by some of the best financial services and tech specialists in the industry.

What you’ll be doing at Pomelo

• Define, own and proactively manage the product backlog, ensuring there is a steady flow of work for the delivery team aligned to the objectives of the product roadmap
• Conduct workshops and analysis to design and define delivery iterations, gather requirements, assess value, ensure work is prioritised and focused on delivering maximum value to our customers
• Capture requirements as increments of delivery and refine with the delivery team; ensure they are well thought through with clear acceptance criteria to ensure requirements are met
• Be the first point of contact for the delivery team to answer questions, clarify requirements and remove blockers
• Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring everyone understands the business value of the delivery increments and represent the needs of our customers on a day to day basis within the delivery team
• Attend and participate in Agile events and stand ups, refinement, planning and retrospectives and work with the Scrum Master to ensure that these are successful
• Provide feedback on the product roadmap, escalating risks, issues and blockers raised by the delivery team and advising on actual vs. expected progress and any knock-on impact to the product roadmap
• Collaborate across internal and external teams, including third party suppliers, to deliver effective solutions based on a strong understanding of the business drivers and benefits for each party
• Manage key stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively to keep them informed

What you’ll need

• Experience operating in a challenging organisational environment with a requirement to balance differing priorities and demands whilst ensuring delivery of the value for our customer
• Experience in the banking, payments or Fintech industry.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• An aptitude for customer centric problem solving and challenging the status quo
• Experience of working in Agile delivery teams, managing a backlog and ensuring business value is prioritised, successfully delivered and Embedded
• A proactive approach and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service
• Lean thinking and the ability to challenge the status quo and always look for ways to improve our service and processes
• Can demonstrate ability to prioritise and organise workload in order to meet tight deadlines

Nice to have

• Some experience in regulated product lines or businesses.
• Proven ability to drive outcomes across functional, delivery and product teams as a point person rather than the direct owner of the resource that will deliver
