The Role Responsibilities

  • The role sits in Operations Enablement (OE) hive which is aligned to Ways of Working (WoW) framework, a bank wide transformation effort to improve the way we work.
  • The role reports to the Chief Product Owner of OE hive and has dual responsibility of Product owner as well as Central Initiatives. The incumbent shall help define, own, and drive the OE hive\xe2\x80\x99s transformation and automation agenda working closely with CC COO teams, product teams, technology, third party and other business functions such as HR, finance, compliance. The role is inherently varied and reflects the changing business demands, technology landscape and other internal & external factors.
Strategy
  • Effectively engage with stakeholders and help formulate Operation Enablement (OE) hive\xe2\x80\x99s strategy aligned with bank\xe2\x80\x99s strategic vision and improvement agenda.
  • Work with hive clusters for process management, analytics, client documents and client service on initiative planning, benefit case and developing implementation roadmaps.
  • Help prepare SIRFs (Investment proposals), Benefits estimations, resource strategy and roadmap for the OE hive.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and improvement leading research on industry best practices and trends in digital transformation, new low code/no code tools and facilitating knowledge sessions.
  • Provide support conducting Big Room Planning, Quarterly and monthly prioritization (QPR, MPR) meetings and help prepare presentations for management update.
Business
  • Support the successful delivery of OE hive Initiatives, across hive clusters and contribute to achieving the metrics and business outcomes.
Initiative Ownership
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions during discovery/ shaping phase for new initiatives and take lead on developing the initiative roadmap.
  • Conduct industry research, engage with vendors to identify solutions and draft communications for management business review and decision making.
  • Run proof of concepts (PoC) with vendors.
Business Analysis and Design
  • Work with business functions and users to understand and identify improvement opportunities, structure objectives, and identify risks.
  • Provide deep dive analysis of processes and activities along the client life cycle to drive efficiency and effectiveness through elimination, automation, or right shoring opportunities.
  • Engage with business stakeholders and find creative solutions to complex BAU issues.
  • Prepare business case for business initiatives/ projects with clearly defined problem statement, proposed solution(s) and benefit estimation.
  • Lead requirement finalization and documentation including end-to end process and value stream maps, for process improvement/ automation initiatives engaging with cross functional teams (frontline, IMO, Products, T&I etc.)
  • Ability to work with tools like Tableau and Alteryx.
Processes
  • The role requires good understanding of Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking (CCIB) client lifecycle, banking products as well as technology & tools available in market with a focus on analytics and automation.
  • Implement best practices in product management, data science, and analytics and build a culture of ownership and accountability with a strong focus on outcomes and quality of deliverables.
Project Governance
  • Promote ways of working (WoW) agenda through agile project management and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain initiative/project/ sub-project backlog and in-flight tasks, provide status updates, and escalate impediments.
  • Lead working groups and/or stakeholder management to ensure the Change & Transformation
  • Engage with stakeholders across countries globally on requirements and deliverables.
  • Act as business partner to the technology and product teams.
  • Mitigate and resolve risks and issues which may impair delivery.
  • Support and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), liaise with technology teams to ensure deliverables are tracked to actual requirements.
People and Talent
  • Provide effective orientation /guidance to new Joiners on the bank\xe2\x80\x99s policies/procedures/processes to ensure their successful assimilation into the team and the bank.
  • Develop and implement a personal learning plan with team manager, to attain necessary competencies.
  • Successfully complete milestones as laid out in implemented personal learning plan.
Risk Management
  • Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility.
  • Channel relevant risks, issues, and escalations to the correct forums on a timely basis, provide risk control and process owners the relevant information to facilitate decision-making and risk management.
  • Support the development of a compliance culture, undertake compliance monitoring through the Operational Risk Framework.
  • Assist in coordinating, facilitating and promoting understanding of operational risk and in implementation and management of OR within the Unit.
  • Ensure all activities are done in line with the laid down Departmental Operating Instructions (DOI) / Roles & Responsibilities and other procedures that are rolled out from time to time. Report any deviation (if any) to appropriate authorities and obtain proper dispensations.
  • Ensure all internal policies and procedures are implemented with the group policies, local legal and regularity guidelines.

  • Deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the team and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
  • Build awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Deliver \xe2\x80\x98effective governance\xe2\x80\x99, capability to challenge fellow colleagues effectively, and willingness to work with regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • MBA from tier 1 university
  • 5 plus years of relevant experience in the field of Management Consulting/ Product Management / Business Strategy
  • Understanding of AI, ML, Analytics, Cloud and Process automation technologies.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills, comfortable with facing off senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with relevant exposure to Project Management, Business Analysis & Process Improvement in financial services domain.
  • Ability to work independently and able to cope with pressures from tight deadlines.
  • Analytical and change mindset with problem solving capabilities.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Business Analyst/ Consulting professional with background in business process re-engineering, automation, and analytics.
  • Process driven, can-do attitude and proactive stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to independently work with the business stakeholders/ request providers to understand the project scope and requirements and translate them into work breakdown structure as part of the project deliverables.
  • Experience in managing large scale cross functional, multi geography transformation projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
