Role Responsibilities

Within the Capital hive delivery structure, The Capital Journey Senior Product owner will be accountable for maximising the business value of the Capital related products & functionality. The role will ensure the voice of clients and relevant stakeholders are represented. The role will lead, communicate and be responsible for the strategic vision and direction of the Capital products & functionality and alignment to business metrics and outcomes. The role will support multiple workstream such as Basel IV Regulations. Specifically:

  • Matrix manages a team of around 5 reports.
  • Direct access to Capitals MD\xe2\x80\x99s and other senior stake holders with the opportunity to have real influence on shaping the Capital product suite.
  • A key Leadership role in the development of the capital product strategy.
  • Accountable for delivering their \'product\'s\' contribution to the Business plan and QPR scorecard.
  • Develop and maintain the product vision and roadmap with (C)POs, squads and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Backlog management; expressing Backlog items clearly and in a consumable format.
  • Accountable to optimise value delivery through continuous improvement, gathering feedback from relevant stakeholders /SMEs/ customers and prioritisation of backlog.
  • Create transparency around backlog item progress, blockers, impediments, dependencies, and product value delivery via metrics.
  • Is present at all required ceremonies/events to provide early and continuous feedback and prioritisation.
  • Work with Scrum Master and squad members to build an empowered, high performing team in a psychologically safe environment.
  • Ensure all artefacts and assurance deliverables are as per the required standards and policies (e.g., nWOWS, CGP).
  • Ensure regular engagement and management of Process Change, Operational and Delivery Risk for their backlog (and all other relevant Risk requirement).
A key workstream to note; SCB is embarking on a firm-wide Programme to prepare for the implementation of Basel III Finalization (Basel IV) regulations as these are finalised and come into law though the expected update to the Capital Requirements Directive & Regulations. The main objectives of Basel IV reforms are to reduce unwarranted variability in bank\xe2\x80\x99s calculation of risk-weighted assets (RWA) and improve comparability of Capital Ratios. The finalized rules will come into effect starting 2022 broadly covering the following components:
  • Standardised approach for Credit Risk
  • Internal ratings-based approach for Credit Risk
  • SA- CCR
  • CVA
  • Leverage Ratio
  • Securitisation
  • TLAC / MREL
  • Output floor
  • Market Risk (FRTB)
  • Operational Risk Framework
  • This role requires strong business knowledge and an effective communication style to operate across a wide range of geographies and Stakeholders. As a Product Owner, the person will need to communicate with diverse set of stakeholders including Development Teams. The person should collaborate with everyone to bring them onboard with the product vision. Collaborating with various stakeholders and Development Teams would need excellent negotiation skills. This will also help avoid delays in decision-making.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Local Country Regulators where Basel IV is being implemented into local Moodys ND instances are relevant

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • 5+ years of functional experience in Capital, Risk, Regulatory Reporting Change Management roles.
  • Detailed knowledge of attribute data model of large banking organisations.
  • Experience with Global Programme roll outs.
  • Experience with both waterfall & agile methodologies.
  • Communication champion with demonstrable experience of communications across multiple geographies.
  • Resilient, Enthusiastic & Result Oriented; a change driver who challenges the status quo in a creative manner.
  • Adept at handling multiple tasks at once and within an extremely deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent stakeholders\' management across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to demonstrate the Bank\'s values in achieving objectives.
