Role Responsibilities
The Product Owner (PO) for StAR (MAS/ASIC) is responsible for maximising the business value of the product resulting from work done by the transformation teams. Working with the SPO & Regime leads towards successful delivery of the MAS & ASIC Re-write for OTC Derivatives Regulatory Reporting onto the new strategic StAR platform.
Responsibilities

  • The candidate should have strong understanding of OTC Derivatives Regulatory Reporting requirements in APAC jurisdictions regulations such as MAS, ASIC & HKMA. This involves staying up-to-date with the latest regulatory reporting changes and ensuring that the reporting processes adhere to the relevant regulations.
  • Defining Product Vision and Strategy: The Product Owner must collaborate with stakeholders, including compliance experts, business analysts, and regulatory bodies, to define the product vision and strategy for the regulatory reporting transformation. This involves outlining the goals, objectives, and desired outcomes of the project.
  • Prioritizing Requirements and Features: In collaboration with the development team and stakeholders, the Product Owner should prioritize regulatory reporting requirements and features based on their impact and urgency. This ensures that the most critical aspects are addressed first and that the team\'s efforts are focused on high-priority items.
  • Creating User Stories: The Product Owner is responsible for translating regulatory requirements into actionable user stories. These user stories define the specific functionality needed to comply with reporting regulations and serve as the basis for development and testing efforts.
  • Maintaining the Product Backlog: The Product Owner maintains the product backlog, which is a prioritized list of tasks and requirements that need to be addressed during the transformation. They continuously update and refine the backlog based on changing priorities and emerging needs.
  • Collaborating with Development Teams: The Product Owner works closely with development teams, ensuring that they have a clear understanding of the regulatory reporting requirements and user stories. They also provide clarifications and guidance throughout the development process.
  • Acceptance Testing and Validation: The Product Owner participates in acceptance testing to ensure that the implemented solutions meet the regulatory requirements and match the intended functionality. They validate that the product satisfies the acceptance criteria before it is released.
  • Communication and Reporting: The Product Owner serves as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and achievements. They must ensure that all relevant parties are informed about the regulatory reporting transformation.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring that the solutions implemented for regulatory reporting are compliant with the relevant regulations and industry best practices. They must identify and address any potential risks associated with the transformation process.
  • Continuous Improvement: After the initial implementation, the Product Owner should actively seek feedback from users and stakeholders to identify areas of improvement. They can then prioritize enhancements and future iterations based on the feedback received.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 8+ years of relevant experience preferably in OTC Derivatives Regulatory Reporting domain
  • In-depth understanding of OTC Derivatives Regulatory Reporting requirements in APAC jurisdictions such as MAS, ASIC & HKMA
  • Understanding of OTC Derivatives products and financial markets
  • Data management - Ability to manage and understand complex financial data including transactional data, counterparty static, and product data. Good understanding of data lineage, data quality and governance.
  • Stakeholder management - Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders such as COO, technology, compliance, and business users etc.
  • Agile Methodology - Proficiency in Agile development methodologies and experience working in Agile environments. Critical to have good understanding of product backlog management, user stories, sprint planning.
  • Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology.
  • Communication - Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor\'s degree (or equivalent) in related discipline
