About the Team
The Video Policy Team is responsible for ensuring that content is enforced accurately and consistently across the platform. The team monitors performance metrics, identifies enforcement gaps, and refines policy implementation to improve trust and safety outcomes
About the Role
As a Product Policy Manager on TikTok's Trust & Safety team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and driving enforcement strategies that protect some of the platform's most vulnerable users. You will focus on identifying, preventing, and addressing high-risk behaviors and harmful content, ensuring swift and effective enforcement aligned with TikTok's commitment to a safe and trusted community. You will apply deep knowledge of model policy frameworks and enforcement workflows to inform scalable and consistent enforcement approaches. Leveraging automation and data-driven insights, you will help strengthen detection, escalation, and resolution processes across video content on a global scale. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, strong expertise in online safety enforcement, and the ability to navigate complex, evolving challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Monitor and track enforcement performance against key metrics to ensure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Analyze data and translate insights into clear, actionable enforcement strategies for cross-functional teams.
Identify, prioritize, and implement strategies to reduce the presence of potentially harmful content on the platform.
Develop enforcement signals and refine moderation strategies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Design and advance proactive and reactive enforcement methodologies that extend beyond human moderation, collaborating with product teams to enhance automated model enforcement.
Review graphic, sensitive, and potentially offensive video content to ensure policy compliance.
Evaluate and improve training materials, while advocating for necessary tooling and technology enhancements to support enforcement efforts.
Collaborate with policy, product, engineering, research, operations, legal, and public relations teams to innovate and evolve safety strategies, leveraging the latest industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in public policy, political science, law, economics, behavioral sciences, or a related field.
3 years experience in Trust and Safety, with demonstrated exposure to child safety, policy enforcement, and policy development.
Strong understanding of automation, model policy frameworks, and enforcement metrics.
Proficiency in data analysis to inform and optimize enforcement strategies.
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and balance complex trade-offs in developing principled enforcement strategies.
Excellent communication skills, with experience building inclusive and effective collaboration across teams of varied backgrounds, time zones, and cultures.
