Operate the Antioxidant (AO) Manufacturing Plant: Ensure adherence to all production, environmental, health & safety (EHS), and quality standards.
Develop Expertise: Gain experience in both Panel Distributed Control System (DCS) and field operations across all production lines, working towards comprehensive knowledge of both panel and field operations.
Responsibilities:
Production Operation: Operate production units in compliance with local regulations, company EHS policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as directed by the Production Engineer.
Process Knowledge: Acquire a thorough understanding of the process flow across all production units, including tank farms and utilities, and perform tasks such as:
Familiarize with emergency procedures for safe operation and shutdown of units via DCS.
Conduct field operator tasks including raw material and catalyst filling, SAMACO rounds, preparation of equipment for Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), 5S rounds, and filter change-outs.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all field tasks.
Learn and operate Delta V to control process units under close supervision from Senior/Lead Technicians.
Understand the EHS risks associated with tasks by reviewing relevant risk assessments.
Collaborate with team members and contractors to complete plant tasks safely and efficiently.
In emergencies, safely shut down the plant and participate as a firefighting brigade member as per emergency shutdown procedures.
Perform in-process sampling and testing.
Carry out simple maintenance tasks, such as opening and boxing up equipment, and handle tools according to safety requirements.
Troubleshoot issues as needed, initiate corrective actions in coordination with supervisors, and maintain proper documentation, including process log-books and handover records.
Engage in plant safety activities and contribute to housekeeping and safety programs.
Report all accidents, injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions to the immediate supervisor to ensure timely corrective action and compliance with EHS programs such as Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and Hazard Elimination and Control (HEC).
Requirements:
Educational Background: Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related engineering field (e.g., Nitec).
Experience: Preferably 3 years of experience in a chemical plant, though those with no experience are also welcome to apply.
Shift Work: Willingness to work a 24/7 shift schedule.
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of chemical processes; proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in SAP PM as a plus.
Location: Must be able to work at Jurong Island.
