Job Requirements
A good degree in Precision Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a related field with Precision Engineering and fabrication background. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in Precision Engineering, fabrication and CNC machining would be preferred as well as hands-on experience is a must.
Experience in following areas is highly desirable.
Basic machining and fabrication and able to use and teach use of lathe, milling machine and similar workshop machinery.
Hands-on competence in CAD, CAM and CNC programming.
CNC machining experience, 3 axis and ideally experience with 5 axis CNC machining, programming, and post processing.
Good knowledge of high precision manufacturing processes, such as EDM, wire-cutting, Laser cutting, precision grinding, powder metallurgy, injection molding, etc.
Strong experience with GD&T and metrology and have hands-on experience with CMM.
Advantageous to have experience with Additive manufacturing.
Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT.
Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems and exploring new fabrication techniques.
Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment.
Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.
