Assist in conducting daily functional training sessions focusing on independent living, community living, communication, social-emotional skills, and work readiness.
Support the preparation of teaching aids, lesson materials, and classroom setup for NOURISH sessions.
Reinforce learning goals identified in trainees' Individualised Development Plans (IDPs).
Observe and document trainees' progress and behaviour for team discussion and follow-up interventions.
Vocational Training Support
Facilitate hands-on training under the Hospitality, Horticulture, and Culinary programmes based on assigned area.
Guide trainees through structured tasks such as housekeeping routines, kitchen preparation, plant maintenance, or other assigned job functions.
Encourage teamwork, appropriate work habits, and workplace communication skills.
Assist Programme Executives in preparing equipment, maintaining workspace cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
Trainee and Caregiver Support
Build positive rapport with trainees, modelling respectful and empowering interactions.
Support the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies.
Communicate relevant trainee updates and observations to the multidisciplinary team.
When required, assist the team in caregiver engagement and event facilitation.
Administration & Operations
Perform routine administrative duties including attendance tracking, materials inventory, and audit preparation.
Assist in the maintenance and organisation of training spaces (classrooms, kitchens, gardens, and hospitality rooms).
Participate in programme improvement initiatives, team meetings, and centre-wide events.
Qualifications:
Minimum Higher NITEC or equivalent qualification in a related discipline (Hospitality, Culinary, Horticulture, Education, or Social Services).
Prior experience in teaching, training, or working with adults with disabilities is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of vocational or life skills training environments preferred.

Overview The Programme Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the implementation of the THK bloom Enabling Skills for Life Programme (ESLP) at the Geylang Bahru campus. This role involves working closely with the multidisciplinary team (Programme Executives, and Allied Health Professionals) to deliver both functional training under the NOURISH curriculum and vocational training across our key centre-based vocational tracks -- Hospitality, Horticulture, and Culinary. The Programme Assistant will provide direct support to trainees with disabilities to help them acquire functional life skills, vocational competencies, and independence, while ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
