Job Description

Yong-en Care Centre (YCC) is looking for an experienced and energetic social work / counselling professional with a heart to serve single parents and their children, and seniors in the Chinatown and Pearl\xe2\x80\x99s Hill area. Reporting to the Director, FSS, the incumbent is responsible for programme management, counselling and supporting case work for our service users facing challenges. Job Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver programmes using evidence-based framework, based on the needs of client, namely single parents support group and their children, support the food distribution and befriending programme
• Manage, guide and support volunteers in the delivery of programmes
• Assess needs of single mothers, and their children based on information and feedback collated from multiple stakeholders
• Provide counselling & casework support to clients
• Drive the programming and delivery of group work and support groups for single parents and their children
• Support the facilitation and assessment of casework, group work, outreach and community development programmes
• Support colleagues involved in the food related distributions and accompanying befriending activities involving regular volunteers
• Coordinate with stakeholders and other organisations for the execution of programmes and manage communications and feedback from stakeholders

Job Requirements

• Minimum Degree in Social Work (or in the midst of pursuing a degree in social work), Psychology and/or Counselling with at least 2 years of relevant experience working with single parents, seniors, children and low-income families
• Registered Counsellor is an advantage
• Resourceful, proactive, responsible, client-centric with strong problem-solving skills
• High integrity, resilient, passionate about working with single parents, seniors and children support group
• Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to converse in English, Mandarin, Malay and local languages (to handle queries and concerns from dialects speaking clients)
• Proficiency in MS365
• Passion for work in the communities served by YCC
• The appointment as a Programme Executive or as a Counsellor depends on the qualifications and the relevant experience of the successful candidate.
