As a Project Engineer (BMS), you are responsible for managing the district engineering workforce for optimum execution including the increase of Global Engineering Services (GES), Central Engineering teams or other back office resources while continually evaluating and developing the capability and skill sets of local resources. The role also requires management to key targeted metrics with an aim to reduce average engineering cost, ensuring consistent delivery excellence across all projects through standardizing on best practice for value engineered solutions and compliance to agreed procedures and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive planning, coordination, resource assignment and execution of Project Engineering within the district and provide the governance via project reviews
  • Provide Close engagement with Sales to ensure robust bid reviews, approval of estimates and labour profiles, to reduce technical and delivery risk
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to develop high performing teams, driving ongoing improvement in skills as identified in the strategic plan or vertical market initiatives
  • Ensure effective performance management, development of future management and engineering capabilities via Honeywell Performance Development and Management Resource Review processes
  • Ensure the availability of tools, equipment, materials and training required to drive productivity in engineering
  • Responsible for functional management of local engineering teams to ensure business goals and objectives are met and key operations strategies are implemented
  • Participate in Annual Operating Plan processes and provide district engineering leadership to execute on agreed plans
  • Be a change agent - influence, consult, advocate and lead efforts for sharing and standardizing of best practices and processes
  • Optimise delivery of projects and engineering to achieve continuous improvement and overall effectiveness to attain productivity targets
  • Interface with the other District and Regional Engineering organizations where required for standard process and initiative adoption, eng tools requirement and sharing of best practices
  • Ownership of district GES Hrs Plan/Targets, quality, maximising utilization, whilst ensuring robust engagement process to drive efficiency and optimization of GES resources
  • Ownership of district project engineering budgets to ensure zero slippage in delivery results.
  • Advocacy and ongoing auditing of the standard Engineering Methodology, processes and tools, and driving improvement activity of the processes
  • Promote and drive knowledge sharing and best practice process adoption throughout the team and wider districts.
MUST HAVE:
  • Engineering Degree / Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Project Management/Execution experience in Building Management Systems (BMS) and/or Building Technology solutions
  • Proven background in Controls, Automation, Electronic Security, Smart Buildings, Digital Engineering and Integration is essential
  • Ability to work effectively in a customer driven functional engineering group environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships between sales and operations to ensure lowest cost, lowest risk and best value engineered solutions
  • Ability to respond to and support business needs flexibly (irregular hours)

  • A proven track record of delivery and success in the areas of problem solving and process change / improvement
  • Knowledge and understanding of Honeywell\'s product offerings and solutions in Industrial, Data Centres and Building Automation industries
  • Ability to think strategically in identifying future trends and applying process improvement tools to solve business problems
  • Change Management skills to accept and lead change within the workforce by pro-actively and creatively taking action to achieve goals
  • Experience of using Digital Engineering tools and automating processes to drive engineering efficiencies and standardized output
