Job Description

Design and Planning:

Design HVAC and mechanical ventilation systems for buildings based on project requirements and industry standards. Perform load calculations, ductwork design, and equipment selection for air conditioning and ventilation systems. Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and layouts using CAD software. Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Assess energy efficiency and recommend improvements for sustainable HVAC solutions.

Installation and Project Management:

Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical ventilation systems. Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution. Monitor project progress, ensuring quality control, timely completion, and adherence to budget constraints. Conduct site inspections to verify proper system installation and compliance with design specifications.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Develop preventive maintenance programs for HVAC and mechanical ventilation systems. Diagnose system malfunctions and recommend corrective actions for performance optimization. Analyze system data, troubleshoot faults, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability. Ensure compliance with refrigerant handling regulations and environmental policies.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure that all HVAC systems meet health, safety, and environmental standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures for HVAC and ventilation systems. Stay updated with the latest advancements in HVAC technology, industry trends, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification in HVAC systems (e.g., ASHRAE, LEED, or equivalent) is a plus. Strong knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical ventilation principles. Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, CFD). Experience with building automation systems and energy-efficient HVAC solutions. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure timely delivery.
