Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: \xc2\xb7 acting as the main technical practitioner on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives; \xc2\xb7 setting out, levelling and surveying the site; \xc2\xb7 checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations; \xc2\xb7 ensuring all materials used and work performed are as per specifications; \xc2\xb7 overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant; \xc2\xb7 aware of prices for materials, and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project; \xc2\xb7 managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client/architect; \xc2\xb7 liaising with any consultants, sub-contractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project; \xc2\xb7 liaising with the local authority to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws; \xc2\xb7 liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress; \xc2\xb7 day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors; \xc2\xb7 planning the work and efficiently organising the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines; \xc2\xb7 overseeing quality control, safety and health matters and environmental on site; complying to ISO, OHSAS, EMS, QMS \xc2\xb7 preparing reports as required; \xc2\xb7 Providing technical advice and solving problems on site Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Only Singaporeans/PRs will be considered \xc2\xb7 Must possess at least a Diploma, Degree in Engineering etc \xc2\xb7 Required skill(s): MS Office, AutoCad \xc2\xb7 At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the construction industry \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of relevant legislation; \xc2\xb7 Good communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals, e.g. construction managers, quantity surveyors, subcontractors, architects, designers, other engineers, etc.; \xc2\xb7 Good organisational and negotiation skills; strong team working skills; project management skills Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
